Olive Tree Software LLC Knowledge Base - Disable Microsoft Edge Surf Game

Newer version of Microsoft Edge come with a small built-in game called Surf. It is potentially distracting for typing users or library kiosk users.

To disable it:

1. Click the following link: https://www.dropbox.com/s/ox5sf6vc7b71unv/Disable_Microsoft_Edge_Surf_game.reg?dl=1

2. Press the Windows Key + E to open Windows Explorer

3. Choose Downloads on the left:

4. Double click the Disable_Microsoft_Edge... file.

5. Click Run on the security prompt.

6. Click Allow on the User Account Control prompt

7. You will be prompted a final time about opening the file: (click Yes)

8. Upon clicking Yes, the script will run and you will receive a success message:

It is possible to re-enable the Surf game, but requires advanced technical knowledge to do so. (which makes it impractical for students or most users to re-enable)
